Resource anchor

A resource anchor is an effective technique to get yourself (or someone else) into a desired (mostly empowering) mood. The technique is widely used by for instance sportsmen, and people who speak in public. Anchors are incredibly useful. When you install a resource anchor by yourself, you can, when you need it, fire the anchor to get into a desired empowering mood. A resource anchor is the beginning of 'state control'. (Who’s driving the bus?)

The process

  1. Identify a mood in several contexts, a useful resource for you.
  2. Think of a time when you had that particular mood.
    • "Step into that moment, associated (look through your own eyes)"
    • "See what you saw, hear what you heard, notice what you noticed and feel what you feel now."
  3. Anchor the mood on a fist or between 2 fingers. Repeat this several times.
  4. Break State. Take a different attitude and another internal representation.
  5. Test: Fire the anchor and see what happens. Empower the anchor by firing regularly.
